Abstract:Based on ABAQUS software and fatigue analysis software FE-SAFE,the life prediction method of rotary shaft lip seal ring was proposed.The rotary shaft lip seal ring between the input shaft and the bearing end cap in a reducer was taken as the research object,the finite element model of the rotary shaft lip seal under the pre-tightening condition was constructed,the relationship curves between the interference and theoretical contact width of the oil seal and the maximum contact pressure of the lip were obtained.According to the stress obtained by ABAQUS and the material stress-cycle times curves,the fatigue analysis software FE-SAFE was used to predict the influence of different interference and theoretical contact width on the cycle life of the rotary shaft lip seal,and the effectiveness of the prediction method was verified.The results show that the cycle life of rotary shaft lip seal decreases with the increase of interference,and increases with the increase of theoretical contact width.Comprehensively considering the sealing capacity and cycle life of the oil seal,when the interference value is between 0.35 mm and 0.45 mm and the theoretical contact width is between 0.3 mm and 0.5 mm,the cycle life of this rotary shaft lip seal ring is higher.
