Abstract:In order to study the effect of grinding wheel vibration on the grinding zone pressure, film thickness and temperature, the lubrication model of grinding wheel vibration grinding consider the timevarying effect of wheel vibration was established. The variation of the maximum pressure, the minimum film thickness and the maximum temperature with the vibration amplitude and vibration frequency of the grinding wheel and the wheel speed were analyzed in the process of ceramic bonded CBN grinding wheel grinding 45 steel. It is concluded that when consider the timevarying effect of wheel vibration, the pressure and film thickness under different instantaneous vary greatly. When the grinding wheel vibration reaches the lowest point, the maximum pressure and the maximum temperature are increased and the minimum film thickness is decreased, and they are opposite when the grinding wheel vibration reaches the highest point. The timevarying effect causes the hysteresis phenomenon of the maximum pressure, the minimum film thickness and the maximum temperature. With the increasing of the grinding wheel speed, the maximum pressure is decreased and the minimum film thickness is increased, which is beneficial to the lubrication can reduce the abrasive wear. However, the increase of the maximum temperature easily results in the grinding burn and thermal deformation of the samples, and influenced the surface quality of the samples after grinding. So the appropriate wheel speed should be chosen.
