Abstract:Flexible graphite spiral wound gaskets(SWGs) are widely used in static sealing of pipeline flanges,and their structure has an important effect on the mechanical properties and sealing performance.Based on the commonly used "V" type simplified model of SWGs,an improved simplified model of R(R1,R2) section parameter was proposed,which can better meet the process requirements.Taking the contact pressure,equivalent stress and compression-recovery of the flexible graphite sealing tape as key performance indicators,the basic objective function and constraint equations for the geometric structure optimization of SWGs were constructed.The simulation analysis of the improved model was carried out using AN-SYS software.The influence of different gasket structure parameters on the key performance indicators was explored,and the optimal structure of the SWG under multi-constraint conditions was determined by using response surface method.
