Abstract:In order to study the effect of graphene oxide (GO) on the lubrication enhancement under limited oil supply conditions, the film thickness and friction coefficient of PAO10 (polyalpha-olefin) and PAO10 with mass fraction 0.03% of GO were measured through the oil film lubrication measurement system of ball-on-disc contact. The effect of entrainment velocity, oil supply quantity,slide-roll ratio, and load on GO lubrication enhancement were studied. The results show that under the condition of low fuel supply and low speed, the friction coefficient decreases obviously after adding GO,and the starvation condition can be relieved to a certain extent. With the increase of the entrainment velocity, the difference of friction coefficient and film thickness decreases before and after adding GO.When the suction speed is constant,as the slide-roll ratio increases, the width of starvation increases and the starvation becomes more serious. When the slide-roll ratio is constant, the starvation degree can be improved to some extent after adding GO.With the increase of the oil supply quantity, the lubrication enhancement of GO becomes weaker, and with the increase of slide-roll ratio, the shear stress on the oil film increases, resulting in the decrease of the lubrication enhancement of GO.Compared with low load, the lubrication enhancement of GO is more significant under high load condition.
