Abstract:Coupled with fluid dynamics, deformation analysis, contact mechanics, energy conservation equation and viscosity-temperature and viscosity-pressure equations,a numerical model of mixed lubrication in the sealing area of the oil seals with combined surface texture was established, and the influence of temperature on the sealing performance of the oil seals was studied. The numerical equation was solved by finite difference method to obtain the temperature distribution of the lip of oil seals with combined surface texture and its maximum temperature at different speeds, and the effect of temperature rise on the pump suction rate, oil film thickness, friction torque and other sealing properties of the oil seals was compared and analyzed. The results show that the maximum temperature of oil seal is located at the tip of the lip,and the maximum temperature of the non-textured oil seal is slightly higher than that of the textured oil seal. The maximum temperature of the oil seal increases with the increase of speed. The presence of texture will cause an increase in oil seal pumping suction rate and average oil film thickness. With the increase of temperature, the pump suction rate, friction torque and oil film thickness of the oil seal will gradually decrease, and the sealing performance of the oil seal will decrease significantly. When the temperature rises to a certain extent, the oil seal pump suction rate will become negative.
