Abstract:In order to find the influence of manufacturing errors on journal bump-type foil bearing,a foil deformation model was established based on Timoshenko beam element,a solid model of the bearing was established based on ABAQUS,and the structural stiffness of the two models was compared. The results show that the structural stiffness curves of the foil of the Timoshenko beam model and the solid model are relatively consistent, and both show linear changes. The solid model of the journal bump-type foil bearing was established, the shaft was loaded with displacement to find the structural stiffness characteristics of the bearing. It is found that there is an obvious hysteresis curve in the structural stiffness curve of the bearing when considering friction. The journal bump-type foil bearings with two different types of manufacturing errors were designed, and their structural stiffness characteristics were analyzed. It is found that the influence of bump height error on the structural stiffness is greater than that of bump length error, and controlling the bump height error of the bump that plays the main supporting role can well weaken the influence of manufacturing error on the structural stiffness of journal bump-type foil bearing.
