Abstract:With the development of steam turbine, turbomachinery and other equipment, the operating conditions of turbine oil become more severe. As a result, the turbine oil is easy to occur abnormal oxidation and lead to varnish.Due to the polarity of molecules, oilsoluble polyether has solubility for polar oxidation products theoretically, such as varnish. In order to explore the feasibility of using oilsoluble polyether to improve turbine oil varnish resistance property, high temperature oven aging,Dry-TOST tests, oil properties analysis and elastomer compatibility tests were used to examine the effect of oilsoluble polyether on insoluble color bodies, sludge amount and other key properties of turbine oil samples, and the compatibility tests between oil samples and elastomeric materials. Results show that oilsoluble polyether as a component of turbine oil has the benefit of reducing insoluble color bodies and sludge amount.Oil soluble polyether has certain adverse effects on the rotary bomb oxidation test, air release and rubber compatibility of turbine oil,but the physical and chemical properties of turbine oil samples added with a certain proportion of oil soluble polyether meet the technical requirements of turbine oil and the requirements of rubber compatibility test. The technique of using oilsoluble polyether as a component of turbine oil to improve its varnish resistance property has certain industrial application value.
