Abstract:In order to remove the oil contamination on the surface of the electrodeposited cobalt block and to understand its deoiling mechanism, the influence of different abrasives on the wear properties of cobalt block with oil contamination was studied by friction contrast tests in the roller friction and wear testing machine. The wear behavior and cleaning effect between different rotating speed and abrasive proportion were discussed, and the wear surface morphology of cobalt was observed and analyzed by scanning electron microscope (SEM).The results show that the external factors effecting the removal of oil contamination on cobalt surface are rotation speed, abrasive type and volume ratio between abrasive and oil contaminated cobalt block.Under the same abrasive proportion condition, the smaller the rotating speed, the shorter the removal time;Under the same rotation speed and abrasive proportion, the decontamination effect of rice husk for cobalt is more obvious than that of sawdust. The optimum parameter for the removal of oil contamination on the cobalt surface is rotation speed of 17 r/min with the volume ratio between abrasive and cobalt bulk of 4∶1 under the experimental conditions in this paper. The removal mechanism of the oil contamination on the cobalt surface by sawdust is multicycle repeat fatigue wear with micro cutting wear, while the removal mechanism by rice husk is mainly micro cutting wear with multicycle repeat fatigue wear.
