Abstract:Considering the deformation of bushing, based on the Reynolds equation, the analytical model of sliding bearings with surface defects was set up,and its lubricating film thickness and pressure distribution were obtained by numerical simulation. The influence of the size and location of the defect on the bearing carrying capacity was explored. The results indicate that the elastic modulus of bushing material and surface defects have effect on bearing carrying capacity. With the increasing of material elastic modulus, the bearing carrying capacity is firstly increased gradually and then tends to a stable value, but the impact of defect become more negligible. The defects locating in bearing middle cross section have the largest influence on bearing carrying capacity. With the increasing of defect size, the bearing carrying capacity is decreased more and more obviously. When the defect is located in the area near the position of minimum lubricating film thickness along the lubricant inlet direction, the bearing carrying capacity will increase slightly.
