Abstract:By using pinondisk type friction pairs under fluid lubrication, friction experiments were carried out for the bearing steel with microcrosshatch grooved surface pattern at two different angles of 90° and 135°.The sliding directions of experiments were passed over the middle of angles of 45°,90° and135°separately.The Stribeck curves were used to analyze the friction characteristics of the surfaces with different angles of microcrosshatch grooved pattern under different test conditions. The friction coefficient graphs were used to analyze the friction properties of these microcrosshatch grooved surfaces. The results show that the friction coefficient is changed with changing of the surface pattern and sliding direction. The microgrooves have a considerable effect on friction reducing performance under the mixed and hydrodynamic lubrication condition, and friction coefficient produced by microgrooves and sliding directions is influenced by lubrication condition. The best friction reducing effect are obtained for the sample with microgroove surface pattern of 135° angle when testing at the sliding direction of passing over the middle of 135° angle
