Abstract:The influences of the surface texture, applied on the pad of water-in-oil lubricated journal bearing,on the film pressure, load capacity and turbulent characteristics were studied based on turbulence theory and by Fluent software. The effects of the shape of surface textures, the speed of journal shaft and the content of water on the turbulent lubrication characteristics of bearing were computed. The results show that complicated surface structure enhances the turbulent flow of film, which yields greater turbulent kinetic energy and improves the pressure and load capacity of the film. With the increase of the rotational speed of bearing, load capacity is increased linearly, and with the increase of water content, film pressure and load capacity of bearing are increased.
