Preparing copper base friction materials with powder metallurgy technology.With pin disc friction tester,in the friction velocity for the range of 3.14 - 47.1 m/s,We did a research about the effects of molybdenum alloy on performance of copper base powder metallurgy friction materials.The experimental results show that:add molybdenum alloy material,improve the coefficient of friction and wear resistance,and impact related to the friction velocity.Low speed,with Molybdenum alloy content increases,the friction coefficient and wear rate is a little change.This is because the ferromolybdenum peeling probability increase,the number of micro convex body of friction surface have no obvious change;High speed,the comprehensive effect of hard surface micro convex body increased and the continuous density third body reduced the surface roughness result in friction coefficient changed little.so increased molybdenum alloy content can enhance the softening resistance ability of the substrate,reduce the degree of the plough cutand express a good wear resistance.
