The influence of the transverse vibration of the contact solid on point contact thermal elastohydrodynamic lubrication(EHL) was explored numerically. It is revealed that a tiny transverse vibration of the solid can cause significant changes in oil film pressure, film thickness and temperature, and multi dimple featured film profile is formed and moved in the contact zone. Due to thermal effect, film thickness is increased but not decreased with the increase of load.
