With the typical loading and velocity under the working condition as the experimental variables, the wear behavior of machine tool slide guides under dry friction was studied through pin on disc wear tests with orthogonal experimental design. According to the form of the Archard wear model, the experimental results were treated with multiple regression analysis and a fine regression expression of wear rate was obtained. By comparing with the calculation results of the regression expression and the Archard wear model with the experimental data, it is concluded that the regression expression is better to predict the wear rate of slide guides.
