Abstract:Nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) is usually used as the stator material of submersible progressive cavity pump (SPCP), and the wear and failure of the stator material is the main reason to influence SPCP working life. In order to improve the abrasion resistance of NBR, the blending rubbers of NBR and fluoroelastomer(FKM) with the ratio of 2∶8,5∶5,8∶2 at the same hardness were prepared. The oil resistance of the blending rubbers was studied in crude oil medium for 72 h at the temperatures of 50 ℃ and 70 ℃, and the wear resistance was investigated in the MLS-225 abrasive wear test machine. The result of immersion test shows that the mass change rates of NBR and FKM are in the range of 0.47%—1.32 % and 1.15%—1.35 % separately, and the mass change rate of the blending rubbers with different ratio of NBR and FKM is in the range of 0.48%—1.72 %, indicating that NBR has the best oil resistance at lower temperature, and the oil resistance is decreased with the increase of temperature. The result of wear experiment shows that NBR and FKM blending rubber with the ratio of 8∶2 has the best wear resistance.
